Where to Stay in Perth

Perth, located on over 80km of white sandy beach and boasting a warm, dry climate, has a relaxed outdoor beach lifestyle. The city is situated on the banks of the picturesque Swan River providing many postcard moments. Dining in Perth is world class with many excellent restaurants, chic cafes and casual food outlets. Only 30 minutes from the Perth CBD, Fremantle is a lively port city with myriad of activities and attractions. One of the easiest towns to explore by foot or bicycle, a great way for visitors to familiarise themselves with the area is by taking the Fremantle Tram Tour which does a regular circuit of the city and includes and informative commentary. The Cappuccino strip in Fremantle is crammed with cafes and bars, overflowing with patrons and buzzing with the sounds of live music. Boutiques carry the latest in fashions and local artists sell their wares at galleries and markets. The gorgeous beaches are a great place for some time out to relax and soak up some sun and swim in the warm Indian Ocean. Cottesloe

Another beachside town, Cottelsoe is well known for its relaxed lifestyle, busy cafes and pristine beaches. Cottesloe annually hosts the Sculptures by the Sea exhibition in early March, a must see if you are in the area at the time. Water activities are popular in Cottesloe and include surfing, fishing, swimming and body boarding. Scarborough

Similar to Cottesloe, Scarborough is a coastal town on the magnificent Scarborough beach. Popular with tourists, Scarborough is jam-packed with cafes, restaurants, bars and nightclubs and has a substantial shopping area offering resort style shopping. There are a number of great hotels in Scarborough including the controversial 24 level Observation City development built in the 80’s that brought about council zoning changes preventing further beachfront high rise developments.
